  2. Check that your camera’s firmware is up-to-date.
  3. Check that Cascable Pro Webcam is up-to-date.

How It Should Work: The First Connection

Note: Typically, you will choose whether to connect your camera to an existing network – such as your home network – or create a new network generated by the camera.

If your camera has separate options for connecting to a desktop computer or a smartphone, choose whichever one is best for you – Cascable Pro Webcam supports either.

  1. Press the Menu button on your camera and navigate to Wireless communication settings in the Setup menu.

  2. Make sure the Wi-Fi/NFC setting is set to Enabled. You do not need NFC enabled here, just Wi-Fi for use with Cascable Pro Webcam.

  3. Follow the prompts through to set up a Nickname for your deivce.

  4. Now select the next option down in the Wireless communication settings menu called Wi-Fi Function.

  5. To use Cascable Pro Webcam, select either the Connect to smartphone or EOS Utility option here. Some cameras only have Connect to smartphone — don’t worry, Cascable Pro Webcam will still be able to connect to your camera.

  6. The camera will now guide you through the connection settings to connect to your device. Select Easy Connection.

  7. On your Mac, click the WiFi Wi-Fi indicator in the menu bar, then select the WiFi network and enter the password that’s displayed on your camera’s screen.

  8. Launch Cascable Pro Webcam. It should automatically detect and connect to your camera. If not, click the Connect… button to search for your camera.

  9. For the first connection, your camera needs to be paired with the connecting app. If this is the case, Cascable Pro Webcam will show this dialog:

    Cascable Pro Webcam’s pairing dialog.

  10. To continue, look at your camera and press OK to confirm the pairing request from Cascable Pro Webcam.

That’s it – you’re connected!
