Nikon (Without SnapBridge) WiFi Connection Guide

Welcome to the Nikon WiFi connection guide! The process of connecting Cascable Pro Webcam to your camera is usually very simple. This guide will walk you through the steps.

If you’re connecting your camera to Cascable via USB, you’ll instead want our Working with Wired Cameras guide.

Important: This guide is for older Nikon cameras that do not include SnapBridge. If your camera uses the SnapBridge branding for connecting to devices, you must follow our Nikon (With SnapBridge) connection guide.

Before We Start

  1. Make sure your camera is supported by Cascable Pro Webcam.
  2. Check that your camera’s firmware is up-to-date.
  3. Check that Cascable Pro Webcam is up-to-date.

Connecting Cascable Pro Webcam to Your WiFi-Enabled Camera

  1. Press the Menu button on your camera and navigate to Wi-Fi in the Setup menu.
  2. Select Network connection within the Wi-Fi menu and choose Enable.
  3. Select Network settings > View SSID to view the name of the WiFi network created by your camera.
  4. On your Mac, click the WiFi Wi-Fi indicator in the menu bar, then select the WiFi network and enter the password that’s displayed on your camera’s screen (if any).
  5. Launch Cascable Pro Webcam. It should automatically detect and connect to your camera. If not, click the Connect… button to search for your camera.

Connecting Cascable Pro Webcam to Your Camera Using a WU-1a/b WiFi Adapter

  1. Connect the WU-1a/b WiFi adapter to your camera and switch your camera on.
  2. On your Mac, click the WiFi Wi-Fi indicator in the menu bar, then select the WiFi network being created by the WU-1a/b WiFi adapter.
  3. Launch Cascable Pro Webcam. It should automatically detect and connect to your camera. If not, click the Connect… button to search for your camera.
